Doris Lucille Car-ter Washington, 86, of Gloucester, died on April 25, 2024.

She was a native of Gloucester and member of The First United Baptist Church where she was a member of the choir, Hospitality, Helping Hand/Outreach and Missionary ministries. She had served as Church Publicist for 24 years and a Trustee for 12 years. She retired from the Department of Veterans Affairs after 31 years of service.

Survivors include her brother, Robert D. Carter Jr.; a granddaughter, and great-granddaughter.

A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday in The First United Baptist Church, burial was in the church cemetery.
