On May 28, 2012, Jesus came to take Donnie to Heaven, after a long illness at his home.

He was born on Dec. 4, 1944, and was a Navy veteran.

He was predeceased by his mother, Hazel B. Davis; his stepdad, Jimmie Davis, and dad, Leon Grinnell.

Donnie was survived by one son, Donald Lee Grinnell; one daughter, Valora Grinnell Pennington; also, three grandchildren, Justin, Michael, and Tara; a niece, Dinah K. Respress, and a very special friend, Andy Hudgins.

A graveside service will be determined at a later date.
