The Dominion Energy Charitable Foundation, which supports nonprofit causes that meet basic human needs, protect the environment, promote education and encourage community vitality, recently awarded $32,500 to four local nonprofit organizations in Gloucester and Mathews.
According to a press release, The Virginia Institute of Marine Science, located in Gloucester Point, was awarded the largest local grant—$25,000 in support of its annual VIMS Marine Science Day.
In addition, the Peninsulas Emergency Medical Services (PEMS) Council, located in Gloucester, was awarded $5,000 to help pay for the Regional Formulary Restocking System, the Gloucester County Public Schools Educational Foundation received $1,500 for a mini-grants program, and the Mathews County Historical Museum received $1,000 for publications, brochures and educational materials.
