The Dominion Energy Charitable Foundation is accepting applications from nonprofit and educational organizations for its competitive Environmental Grant.
Grants as high as $50,000 will be awarded for requests that focus on educating K-12 students and the public about environmental science, protecting and preserving natural habitats, and improving open spaces and making nature accessible, according to a press release, adding that a total of $1 million will be awarded this year.
Past grants have been awarded to organizations that treat and research wild animals, teach children to swim so they can better appreciate the outdoors, teach young people in urban settings about the importance of environmental stewardship, and more, said the release.
