Diphtheria-stricken school has reopened

The Battery School at North, after being closed on account of diphtheria, reopened Monday with Miss Lucile Douglas as teacher.
Miss Addie Diggs and Mr. Vernon Rowe will be married at the Baptist Church on Gwynn’s Island Dec. 16, 1908. Rev. Suddith will perform the ceremony after which Mr. Ike Diggs will give a wedding supper.
Most of the island oystermen have gone up to the Potomac River to oyster and are doing well.

Coke News: Mr. and Mrs. N.J. Oliver and two children were Sunday evening guests in the home of Mrs. Oliver’s mother, Mrs. Elizabeth Seawell.
Mr. Doswell Eastwood, Miss Ethel Haynes and Mr. Robert Hogge were Sunday night guests in the home of Mr. and Mrs. J.A. Dudley.
Mr. and Mrs. Herbert Williams and little son, and Mr. Williams’s mother, were Sunday guests of Mr. and Mrs. Willie Burbank.
