DIANNA TRISCHMAN LEE

Dianna Trischman Lee, age 86, passed from this life to the next on Tuesday, September 19, 2023, peacefully in her residence at Edgeworth Park at New Town in Williamsburg, Va.

Dianna was born on April 23, 1937, in Hampton, Va., to her late parents, Charles Anton and Nelli Cockey Trischman. She was the younger sister of the late Charles Anton Trischman Jr. She graduated from Petersburg High School and earned a Bachelor of Arts in Education from the University of Virginia at Mary Washington College. She was employed as an elementary school teacher for most of her career in the Mathews County school system. During that time, she earned a Master of Education in Educational Administration from Old Dominion University and was the last principal of Cobbs Creek Elementary School in Cobbs Creek, Va. She retired in 1999 after more than 40 years of teaching.

Dianna was married to the late Edwin Eugene Lee Jr. for 55 years. While residents of Port Haywood, Va., she and her family attended St. Paul United Methodist Church where she served as a Sunday school teacher. She was also a member of the St. Paul UMC Women’s Guild and Mathews Woman’s Club. A great cook and homemaker, she also enjoyed playing bridge, sewing, knitting, and making quilts. She was an avid bird-watcher and attended Audubon camps while RVing with her husband. Later in life, she served as a volunteer at Walter Reed Hospital in the Daffodil Gift Shop.

Dianna is survived by her daughter, Linda Lee Earl and spouse Peter Carpenter Earl of Gloucester, Va.; her sons, Charles Anton Lee and spouse Kimberly Roberson Lee of Williamsburg, and John Ferguson Lee and spouse Leslie Jackson Lee of Gloucester. Her grandchildren are Charles Tyler Lee, Madeline Alexandria Earl, Ann Carter Lee, Jordan Paul Lee, and Benjamin Mark Lee. Her great-grandchildren are Jack, Henry, Teddy, and Andy.

Dianna was a beautiful woman, loving wife, amazing mother, and grandmother. She is celebrated in our lives, memories, and prayers. Her children wish to honor her memory with a visitation gathering at Andrews Funeral Home in Gloucester, on Sunday, October 1, from 2-3:30 p.m. In lieu of flowers or gifts, the family respectfully requests that donations be made to Mathews Elementary School, P.O. Box 219, Mathews Va. 23109, where a fund has been established in her memory.
