Diana Susan Allison, 65, of Cobbs Creek, Va., passed away on Friday, Sept. 6, 2013.
She was born to George and Rose Mraz, August 10, 1948, in Parma, Ohio.
Diana was a hard-working, loyal employee at Woodway Management LLC in Virginia Beach, Va., and Port Urbanna Marina in Urbanna, Va., for the last several years.
She was a respected piano teacher in Mathews County who had taught and shaped the talent of a multitude of diverse students in the area. She studied music in Europe, the Juilliard School in New York City, Baldwin Wallace University, and the College of William and Mary.
Diana is survived by her mother, Rose Mraz of Parma; her son, Kevin of Norfolk, Va.; her brother, and sister-in-law, Tom and Debbie Mraz of Salt Lake City, Utah, and their children Jessica, Kaitlyn, and Colton; and her cousins, Sharon and Jim Varsey of Painesville, Ohio, and their children Michelle Alford (and her children) and Brian Varsey.
She is also survived by her close group of extended family of friends from the Mathews-Northern Neck area of Virginia, including Ruth Fitzpatrick who was instrumental in providing her care and comfort in her final days with us.
Diana will be remembered for her endless talents, creativity, sense of humor, and love of the coastal environment she lived in.
In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting that donations can be made out to the Gloucester-Mathews Humane Society.
