DIANA D. BOOKER

Diana D. Booker, age 79, of Gloucester County, passed away in Hampton on Friday, July 19, 2024. Diana was born on February 6, 1945 to the late Lowda and Louise Davis. After graduating from Gloucester High School in 1963, she worked briefly at Fort Eustis. In 1969, she met the love of her life, Calvin Roane Booker Jr., and they began their life together with his daughter, Tabitha. They had a son, Roane Calvin Booker III, a few years later. She spent the next chapter of her life as a homemaker, sewing, gardening, canning, cooking, and caring for her family. After their son was in school, she worked as a bookkeeper, office manager, and sales associate for almost 40 years with her husband Calvin in the family business, Tri-County Furniture, on Main Street in Gloucester. She was preceded in death by her husband, Calvin; grandson, Jeffrey Leigh Spencer Jr.; brother and sister-in-law, Roy and Dot Davis; brother, Marion Davis; brother-in-law, Al Booker, and sister-in-law, Annette McGhee. Diana is survived by her son, Roane (Stephanie); daughter, Tabitha (Robert); sister, Sylvia Motley; brother, Billy Davis (Carolyn); sisters-in-law, Janice Booker and Adelaide Davis; grandchildren, Morgan, Andi, Lynleigh, and Scotty; five great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandson, and best friend, who was like a sister of 74 years, Kathryn Loveland. The family received friends on Wednesday, July 24, 2024, at Hogg Funeral Home from 6-7:30 p.m. A graveside service conducted by the Rev. Ed Walker will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, July 25, 2024, at Bellamy United Methodist Church Cemetery, 4870 Chestnut Fork Road, Gloucester, Va. 23061, followed by a reception in the social hall of the church. Should friends desire, memorial contributions may be made to the Gloucester Volunteer Fire & Rescue, P.O. Box 1417, Gloucester, Va. 23061. Diana was loving, kind, compassionate, and generous and had a smile for everyone and will be missed greatly.
