W. Calvin Barnard, D.D.S. will open his new dentistry office in Hudgins on Monday. The office is located at 44 Cricket Hill Road, adjacent to the 7-Eleven store. Barnard will practice Mondays, Tuesdays and Wednesdays.

Barnard has a general dentistry practice, specializing in prosthodontics, with the new office including a laboratory for making crowns, dentures and implants.

The spacious office includes several modern examination and treatment areas, the laboratory and a reception room. Barnard’s staff includes dental assistant Hope Green of Mathews, who has more than 10 years’ experience, and receptionist Kelly Burns of Gloucester, with eight years’ experience.

Barnard has had a long career in dentistry. He worked 30 years in Richmond. Then he retired, missed the interaction with patients, and went back to work for three years at a Hayes dental practice. Then, he retired again—but decided to offer his professional skills in a small community.
