DENNIS ALAN EDWARDS

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Dennis Alan Edwards, 60, of Gloucester, on April 16, 2023. He was a native of Elizabethtown, North Carolina, born on April 17, 1962, to the late Billy and Betty Jo Shaw Edwards. Dennis was co-owner of Grafton Collision Center, as well as their second location in Williamsburg, allowing him to put his passion for cars to use. He was a lover of the water, and known for his infectious laugh, jovial personality, and always ready for a good time, with family and friends as often as he could. Dennis was also an avid outdoorsman; he could often be found playing golf, fishing, and camping.

He is survived by his wife, Sharon Edwards; children, Dennis II (Erika) Edwards, Anthony (Jessie) Edwards, Nicholas Edwards, Mike Bauer, Stacey (Dana) Powell, Ryan (Jackie) Bauer, and Samantha (Troy) Shackelford, as well as a sister, aunts, uncles, nieces, 21 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. His legacy will be remembered as a loving father, husband, brother, and son, as well as a friend to everyone he met. The family will receive friends on Friday, April 21, 2023, from 6-7 p.m. at Hogg Funeral Home. A Celebration of Life service for Dennis, conducted by the Rev. Dr. Domeka Kelley, will be held in the chapel of Hogg Funeral Home, at 11 a.m. on Saturday, April 22, 2023. The interment will be private.
