Deltaville Deltas survive River Dogs to remain undefeated

The Deltaville Deltas hung on to a 9-8 lead to win Saturday night against the Richmond River Dogs thanks to a key defensive play from third-baseman Dawson Adams and clutch pitching by Spencer Crittenden, which stymied a six-run final-inning rally by the River Dogs.
The Deltas handed the River Dogs its first loss of the season while Deltaville remained undefeated, improving to 6-0 but it wasn’t without a tough fight all the way to the very end.
Deltaville got on the board early in the first inning, scoring a pair of runs in the opening frame. They ran out to an 8-0 lead in the third inning in what would be a key rally. The Deltas collected five hits while taking advantage of a defensive error, scoring six runs in the inning, capped by a pair of two-run singles from Jacob Houston and Crittenden.
