The Deltaville Deltas will begin their 2022 campaign this weekend, and Deltaville Ballpark will be abuzz all weekend in celebration of a major milestone.
This season marks the 75th season of action at Deltaville Ballpark. Constructed in 1948, it is the oldest and one of only two remaining all-wooden ballparks in the state.
The celebration kicks off Friday night with jazz swing band Good Shot Judy taking the stage at 7 o’clock. Fans are encouraged to bring their own seat or blanket to spread out on the outfield. Food, adult beverages, and water and soft drinks will be available. Tickets for adults are $15; teens are $5 and children under 12 are free.
On Saturday, the stage comes off the field and the baseball begins. At 5 p.m., former Deltas from decades past will take the field against their counterparts from the Deltas’ longtime rival Tappahannock Tides.
