Wood bat baseball returns to Deltaville Ballpark this Saturday night, with the Deltaville Deltas kicking off their 2024 season.
The Deltas are coming off a 17-4 season in which they finished in first place in regular season action, but fell in the final game of the best-of-three Richmond NABA Championship Series against the Richmond El Heaters.
It was the second year in a row the Deltas won the regular season title but fell in the championship. The team will be focused on getting over the hump in the new season.
This year’s schedule features 11 home games at Deltaville Ballpark, starting off with this weekend’s interleague matchup with the Southside Washers of the Hampton Roads NABA. First pitch will be at 7:30 p.m. at Deltaville Ballpark.
Richmond league play will kick off the following weekend, with a schedule that will be complicated by a new league alignment designed to pit the most competitive teams against each other more often. The schedule pits the top six teams from 2023 again...
