A buzzsaw of pitching took down the Deltaville Deltas in their first road game of the season, but they bounced back in a come-from-behind win at home on Saturday to split a pair of league games in Richmond NABA play.
The Deltas fell, 6 4, in Tappahannock last Wednesday, but erased a 7-4 deficit to defeat the Richmond Trash Pandas, 9-7, on Saturday night in Deltaville.
Deltaville moves to 3-1 overall on the season, with a 2-1 league mark, placing them in a three-way tie for fourth place in the 12-team league standings. This week is a challenging one for the Deltas, as they hit the road twice before returning home. The Deltas took on the 2022 league champion Richmond Brewers on Tuesday night in Richmond (results not available at press time), and face the rejuvenated Richmond Misfits on Thursday night. On Saturday, the defending 2023 league champions Richmond El Heaters come to Deltaville Ballpark. First pitch is set for 7:30 p.m.
