Offense was not a problem for the Deltaville Deltas on Friday night as they crushed the Richmond Avalanche, 14-0, but a series of defensive errors and hot Chesapeake Sharks hitting doomed them to an 11-5 loss on Saturday.
With more than half the regular season completed, the Deltas carry a record of 8-2-1 in league play (9-3-1 overall). They sit in third place in the tightly packed Richmond NABA standings, with the Richmond El Heaters in second place at 7-1-1, and the Tappahannock Tides are atop the standings at 7-1.
This week, the Deltas travel to Richmond to take on the Richmond Trash Pandas (6-4) in a 7 p.m. game on Thursday at L.C. Byrd High School. On Saturday, the Deltas return home to face the Fredericksburg Havoc.
