The Virginia Department of Motor Vehicles has announced delayed openings at various DMV customer service centers from May 7-9 to provide employees with vital safety training. The Gloucester DMV, located in the York River Crossing shopping center at Gloucester Point, will be closed the morning of Tuesday, May 7, opening at 1 p.m.
Online transactions will continue to be available, and nearby offices will be open to support the Gloucester office, said a press release.
According the release, the training “isn’t just about fire drills and medical emergencies.” Rather, DMV also intends to “make use of our large statewide footprint to combat human trafficking. By training our employees to recognize signs of those who may need help, we can be extra eyes and ears looking to intervene for those who may need it.”
