Deborah “Jean” Ganoe, 53, of Gloucester, lost her courageous battle with cancer on Sept. 26, 2014.

Mrs. Ganoe was born in Newport News, Va., on July 11, 1961, the daughter of the late Herman Alton and Frances Virginia (Owens) West.

She is survived by her husband, Leonard Ganoe; brother, Calvin Wayne West; nephew, Douglas West; step-son Calvin Scott Ganoe Sr., and grandchildren, Calvin Scott Ganoe Jr. and Winter Lilium Ganoe. She was preceded in death by her brother, Alton West.

She was a nurse for 33 years. She loved her animals, Nemo, Diamond, Houdini, Sassy and Socks.

A memorial service was held on Saturday, Oct. 4, at 11 o’clock at the Church of Abraham located in 17 Plaza, 4149 George Washington Memorial Highway, Hayes, Va. 23072. Services were performed by Desmond Forrest.
