Deborah Blick Smith, 71, passed away suddenly at her home in Glen Roy Estates, Gloucester, Virginia, on Wednesday, January 22, 2025.
Debbie was an accomplished Human Resources professional, earning her Bachelor’s Degree from Longwood University and her Master’s Degree from George Washington University. She was a lifelong educator, having taught in the Spotsylvania school system early in her career, culminating with her employment at Philip Morris, Inc., in Richmond in human resources, with specialization in training education. Throughout her career, she brought dedication and expertise to her role at Philip Morris before enjoying a well-deserved retirement.
Over the course of her lifetime, she participated annually with her friends in charity golf events. She was a naturalist and loved fishing and bird-watching. Cooking was also one of her passions.
She was preceded in death by her father, Bernard Blick, and her sister, Susan Kelly. She is survived by her loving husband of 17 years, Donald L. Smith; along with his children, Michael, Ryan, and Katie Smith. Debbie is also survived by her mother, Charlotte Blick Winstead, and her brother, Jim Blick.
A celebration of Debbie’s life will be held at Andrews Funeral Home in Gloucester, on Monday, February 3, 2025, at 1 p.m. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Gloucester Fire Department and Rescue Squad.
