Another of the old Mathews Landmarks was torn down on Tuesday when the spirit of Mr. Seth F. Miller crossed the Great Divide. During the long summer months at his fine home on North River he has been battling against the dread destroyer but the struggle was too much for him and at 4 o’clock Tuesday morning he gave up the fight for good.
The funeral was preached at the home by Rev. T.W. Ogden on Wednesday evening and the body laid to rest in Trinity Cemetery.
Mr. Miller was born in this county 66 years ago and was the son of Mr. and Mrs. Larkin Miller. During the most of this time he was prominently identified with public affairs, and held many offices of trust and responsibility the duties of which he discharged with fidelity and ability.
