DAVID HINTON MOORMAN

David Hinton Moorman, 83, passed away on Sunday, May 7, 2023, in Richmond, Virginia. Born on March 22, 1940, Dave grew up on his family’s farm in Bedford County, Virginia. He participated in 4-H and high school athletics, and was the big brother to his three siblings Michael, Mary, and Anne. A lover of Key lime pie, stone fireplaces, Christmas, and being barefoot, Dave was a hard-working, kind, gentle man who treasured his family and relished a good dry joke. He retired after 41 years with Carpenter Company, finishing his career as CFO. He loved his life by the East River in Mathews enjoying many boat rides, quiet times at the end of the pier, weekly golf with the Geezer Guys, and traveling with family and friends.

Dave is survived by Linda Lou Moorman, his wife of 35 years; his three daughters, Beth Myers, Angie Moorman and Linda Barrett; his stepdaughters, Debbie Kukla, Cherie Warfield and Sarah Everhart; as well as 12 grandchildren; three great- grandchildren; his brother, Michael Moorman; his sister, Mary Lough; several nieces and nephews, and his beloved dog “Baxter.” He was preceded in death by his parents, Billie and Hinton Moorman, and his sister, Anne MacLean.

In lieu of flowers, please consider a contribution to the Gloucester-Mathews Humane Society. A celebration of life will be planned at a later date. Faulkner Funeral Homes, Foster-Faulkner Chapel, Mathews, is assisting the family.
