David Forest Hamrick, age 55, of 223 Nixons Beach Rd., Edenton, N.C., died Feb. 6, 2014 in Chowan Hospital.
Mr. Hamrick was born in Hampton, Va., on Oct. 26, 1958, and was the son of Grace Hamrick Croswell and the late Robert G. Hamrick.
He is survived by two sons, Mitchell Hamrick and wife Brittany of Elizabeth City, N.C., and Collyn Ransom of Michigan, and a daughter, Tiffany Hamrick of Elizabeth City, N.C. He had one grandson, Ethan Mitchell Hamrick; two brothers, Dallas Hamrick and wife Karen of Gloucester, Va., and Dale Hamrick and Angel Broome of Edenton, N.C.; one sister, Mary Hamrick Hall and husband Jay of Oak City, N.C.; nieces, Karla Hamrick, Shannon Messer, April, Amber and Ashley Hamrick, Charlie and Meghan Patterson, Rachel Hall and Meredith and Ave Kilcoyne; nephews, Miles Hamrick, Ethan Scott Hamrick, Brandon, Seth and Matthew Hall and Jeremy and C.J. Dowless.
David was preceded in death by his brother, Gene Hamrick, and sister, Martha Patterson.
David was employed at Edenton Motors for the last seven years, where he proudly worked on cars as a certified Daimler Chrysler Mechanic. He took great pride in his work and loved taking care of his customers.
He was an avid fisherman, who like most, had many stories to tell! And when the weather was right he loved riding his Harley-Davidson motorcycle.
A memorial service will be held Saturday, Feb. 15, 2014, at 11 a.m. at Open Door Church at 1255 Haughton Rd., Edenton, N.C. 27932. Other times the family will be at his residence at 223 Nixons Beach Rd., Edenton, N.C. 27932.
