Darlene O. Madera, 62, of Newport News, Va., died on Nov. 14, 2022. She was a native of Gloucester and a member of Smithfield Baptist Church.

Survivors include her husband, Joel F. Madera; son, Emmanuel Madera, both of Newport News; sisters, Sherrie Dickerson (Thomas) of Brooklyn, N.Y., and Dorothy Glover (Jerry) of Newport News; brothers, Michael Miller (Renee) of Newport News, and Murray Miller (April) of Charleston, S.C.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Clarence Frizzell and Rebecca Leigh Miller, and brothers, Clarence and Franklin Miller.

A funeral was held on Tuesday, Nov. 22, 2022, at noon in The Church of Abraham. Burial was in the church cemetery.
Howard Funeral Home, Ark, was in charge of arrangements.
