Darlene Kay Butler of Hayes, died on Friday, March 22, 2024, at the age of 81. Darlene was born on May 22, 1942 to the late Garland and Evelyn Wilson in Cumberland, Pennsylvania. She worked as a secretary for NASA in Texas during the Apollo 11 mission. She was a member of the Abingdon Ruritan Club. She enjoyed gardening, and listening to audiobooks and she was a big Willie Nelson fan. Darlene was preceded in death by her husband, Marshall William Butler Jr., and their daughter, Krissy Butler. Darlene is survived by her son, Marc Butler (Cherrie); grandchildren, Baylee Butler and Paul Hogge; sisters, Linda Stekas (Chris) and Joyce Parsons, and cousin, Doris Fair. The family will receive friends at Hogg Funeral Home on Saturday, April 13, 2024, from 10-10:45 a.m. followed by a chapel service, conducted by the Rev. Michael Condrey, to begin at 11 o’clock. The inurnment will be private.
