DAR recognition

The Cricket Hill Virginia Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution had a special service for POW/MIA Recognition Day during the group’s September meeting. Participating in the service were, from left, Regent Lynda Lancaster-Loyd, Deborah Lambert, Carolyn Hogge, Miriam Kleintop, Doris Pritchett and Frances Ellis. Also, the chapter displayed a crocheted American flag at Mathews Memorial Library in honor of Constitution Week, Sept. 17-24. Donated by Mathews resident Sandros “Sandy” Jenkins, the flag was crocheted by his sister, Barbara Jenkins Lynch. The next DAR meeting is set for Oct. 18, when items will be collected at Kingston Parish House for Service to America Day.
