The photography division of this year’s Gloucester Daffodil Show, to be held on April 6 and 7 at Newington Baptist Church during the Gloucester Daffodil Festival, will feature photographs inspired by classic Broadway shows and theater.
Entries will be classed under themes as varied as “Little Daffodil Shop of Horrors” (a still life of a spooky or ominous nature, with daffodils as the main focal point), “Memories” (daffodils composed), and “The Hills are Alive with Daffodils” (daffodils in nature or landscapes).
“I’m Ready for My Daffodil Close-up” will feature an up-close photo of a single daffodil bloom or up to three blooms of a single cultivar, while “Mamma Mia” will feature daffodils with the photographer’s mom or people they love.
Additional classes include “Beauty and the Beast,” daffodils with animals; “Wicked Daffs,” daffodils or a daffodil element arranged in a manipulated or unusual way; and “Young at Heart,” which is open to youth 18 and under and will include any photograph...
