Mathews County is offering two public information sessions on cybersecurity this month at Mathews Memorial Library. Both sessions will be held on Wednesday, Oct. 23, one at 1:30 p.m. and the other at 6:30 p.m.
The talks will update residents on the current cybersecurity landscape and provide tips on how to make online interactions safer, said a press release. They are expected to last approximately one hour, and everyone is invited to attend.
The sessions are being offered during National Cybersecurity Awareness Month, held in October.
NCSAM is a collaborative effort among businesses, government agencies, colleges and universities, associations, nonprofit organizations and individuals that share the goal of providing all Americans with the information they need to stay safer and more secure online, said the release. The effort is led by the National Cyber Security Alliance and the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Agency of the U.S. Department of Homeland Security.
