The Gloucester County Commonwealth’s Attorney office visited Abingdon Elementary School on Nov. 3 to provide a presentation on Crime Scene Investigation (CSI) for Michelle Norman’s and Valerie Sherenco’s fifth grade classes. Students did fingerprints and discussed crime scene scenarios. They also learned how to find and process evidence. Some students copied their fingerprints with ink, but some learned about fingerprinting and trace evidence by touching papers, bottles and glasses. Students used cocoa powder to “dust” for fingerprints and then lifted their fingerprints with tape. Chief Deputy Commonwealth’s Attorney Marie Walls is shown here with student Aubree Prentiss.
