Dec. 29, 1978-Dec. 20, 2023
My wife, my friend, my companion
On 12-20-23, Crystal was taken home to heaven by Jesus for her new journey. She died peacefully in her newly renovated home, after a short second battle with cancer. We all prayed for a miracle, but we’ve come to realize, she was the miracle. Throughout her life and all of her trials, Crystal stood strong in her faith and belief that God is there to help us, all we have to do is ask. November 2022 through December 2023 was our darkest year, from the first battle with cancer, our house fire before Christmas, and this second deadly battle of cancer. Crystal’s strong faith and belief kept her going and fighting for everyone around her. She led her family, co-workers, friends, and strangers with a shining light, infectious smile, and strong will to encourage people to not be in fear, God’s got us. She loved to tell how God carried her through her childhood, our marriage, the birth of our children, work, and daily life’s issues. She was a great example to all of us and will be sorely missed.
Crystal is survived by husband, Leigh Thorson of Hayes; children, Madlen and Carleigh Thorson; mother and husband, Vicki and Ken Milam; father and wife, Michael and Stephanie Hicks; sister and husband, Candice and Michael Nelson; sister, Chasity Hicks; sister and husband, Melanie and Landon Johnson, and brother, Kenny Milam Jr.
Andrews Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
