Approximately 15 people attended a town meeting Sept. 14 at Abingdon Elementary School to discuss improving the business climate in lower Gloucester, said Christi Lewis, the county’s Director of Community Education who coordinated the meeting.
Gloucester Point district supervisor Robert "Bobby" Crewe hosted this, his fourth meeting this year on the issue, to discuss strategies to help businesses in the Gloucester Point-Hayes area.
Lewis said that during the meeting Anne Ducey-Ortiz, Gloucester’s planning director, spoke about the Urban Development Area process, and Douglas Meredith, director of economic development, gave an update on the subcommittees that have been formed by the Gloucester Economic Development Authority, especially the Gloucester Point and Small Business committees.
