Crazy J’s Consignments opened for business on Sunday at Hayes Plaza Shopping Center, Hayes.

The business, which began about a year ago at Stage Coach Flea Market, White Marsh, still operates a branch there, said owner Joel Canepa. He’s one of the store’s two "J’s"; the other being sales associate Jon Presgraves of Wicomico, with Canepa indicating both are rather loud, friendly type guys and so the store got its name.

Canepa now runs both a small shop at Stage Coach and a much larger operation at Hayes Plaza, located between Ginny’s Place and Dollar General. There, he has approximately 5,300 square feet, of which much of the space (4,300 square feet) is a large showroom. To the rear, he plans to open a 300-square-foot display area for major appliances, as well as 700 square feet for office and storage.
