For 12 years, a group of people in Central United Methodist Church and Mathews Baptist Church have been knitting and crocheting blankets and hats for Children’s Hospital of The King’s Daughters and Sons. They also make crayon boxes and include a coloring book and a box of 24 crayons with each box. In addition, they make hats for the Peninsula Cancer Institute in Gloucester. Shown above is a display organized by Janet Bowman, Helen Lee, and Grace Mortimer of many of the colorful items the group creates. Below are Anne South, the group’s chairperson, and the Rev.
