The Gloucester County Health Department has three immunization clinics scheduled for October, offering a range of vaccines, including the new monovalent COVID-19 vaccine that immunizes against Omicron variant XBB.1.5.
Clinics will be held on Oct. 6, 11, and 25, at 6882 Main Street, Suite No. C–F, Gloucester. Hours are 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday through Friday. To make an appointment, call 804-693-2445.
According to the Three Rivers Health District newsletter, it is recommended that people aged 5 years and older receive a 2023-2024 COVID-19 vaccine regardless of previous vaccines they’ve received, as long as it has been at least two months since their last dose. This includes children ages 6 months through 4 years.
Those who have not previously been vaccinated against COVID-19 should complete a two-dose primary series of the Moderna vaccine or a three-dose primary series of the Pfizer vaccine, said the newsletter.
