Couple marks five years running Gloucester Main Street restaurant

 
When a young man from Tehran living in Miami, Florida, met and married a young woman from New York who was also living in Miami, operating a restaurant in Gloucester and residing in Mathews were not yet on their menu. That was 12 years ago; and now, Lulu Birds Kitchen has been operating for five years on Main Street.
Chef Keyvan and Isabelle Behnam are owner/partners of Lulu Birds. Keyvan is executive chef in the kitchen while Isabelle is front director. “He takes care of the back. I take care of the front.”
Keyvan became interested in the culinary world when he began delivering pizzas at the age of 16. “From then on I slowly learned the business, working my way up and always thinking that one of these days I want to have my own restaurant.” His dream came true and at this point in his life Keyvan is doing what he loves to do: preparing dishes of fresh seafood, specializing in salmon, fresh vegetables and fulfilling a menu that covers palate pleasers for ...
