Gloucester is one of three localities in Virginia to receive an "A+" rating on its website, www.gloucesterva.info, according to the Sunshine Review, a collaborative online almanac that establishes a level of transparency for local government websites. Gloucester, with one web developer, ranks alongside the City of Arlington, one of Virginia’s most populous localities, and nearby York County.
Thanks to the efforts of Brian Burchett, applications and web developer analyst for Gloucester, and countless other department representatives, Gloucester received perfect ratings using a "10-point Transparency Checklist." The list is used by the Sunshine Report to assess state and local government websites on proactive disclosure of government information.
