A stormwater information session will be held from 10 a.m.-noon Thursday, Oct. 24, in Gloucester’s colonial courthouse.
Sponsored by the Gloucester Environmental Programs Office, the program is targeted principally at design consultants, developers and engineers, said Scott Rae, the county’s environmental programs administrator.
Rae said his staff is seeking input on the development of the stormwater program legislated for local adoption by July 2014.
A tiered plan is envisioned, which will be based on the size of the land disturbance, Rae said. A fee schedule to support the stormwater program has not yet been proposed.
The Gloucester Board of Supervisors will hold a public hearing on the matter, probably early next year, he said.
A variety of stormwater protection measures can be utilized, Rae said, such as management ponds, grass swales and dry ponds.
