The 2025 Congressional Art Competition is now open to high school students in all 435 congressional districts nationwide, including in Virginia’s First District.
The competition offers young artists the opportunity to showcase their talent, with the winning artwork displayed for one year in the U.S. Capitol, said a press release from Congressman Rob Wittman.
Entries may include paintings, drawings, collages, prints, mixed media, computer-generated art, and photography. All artwork must be original in concept, design, and execution, and must not violate U.S. copyright laws.
The deadline for submissions is Monday, April 28.
The first-place winner will have their artwork showcased alongside winning pieces from across the country, said the release. Additionally, they will be invited to a reception in Washington, D.C., to celebrate their achievement.
