Concerts by the Bay will present a John Denver tribute at 3 p.m. on Sunday, Dec. 15, in the Harry M. Ward Auditorium at Mathews High School. Jim Curry will entertain the audience with classic John Denver songs and Christmas music.Curry was selected to sing as the voice of John Denver in the CBS Television movie “Take Me Home, the John Denver Story,” and has continued to sing the praises and songs of America’s Troubadour.
As a lifelong John Denver fan, Curry dedicated himself to continuing the singer’s legacy of songs and his message of loving and care for the Earth for future generations, said a press release. Since 2002, he and his band have performed in some of the most prestigious venues in the country. As a special guest performance, Curry has invited Mathews High School student Hunter Owens to join him on stage.
Tickets are $30 at the door, with students free of charge.
