A community information meeting that was scheduled for Thursday night on the topic of broadband for Mathews County has been cancelled because of newly-enacted COVID-19 restrictions.

Judy Rowe, Chair of the Mathews Broadband Advisory Board, said the meeting, “From Luxury to Necessity: Bridging the Digital Divide,” will be rescheduled when conditions allow.

Broadband Telecom, the county’s consultant for broadband, and representatives from AT&T FirstNet and Segra, provider companies, will still be participants, said Rowe.
