Operation Christmas Child, a project of Samaritan’s Purse, is providing individuals, families, and groups the opportunity to pack a shoebox gift-filled with toys, school supplies, and personal care items to give to children worldwide during National Collection Week, Nov. 18–25.
Once a box is packed, it should be taken to a drop-off location. Locally, those locations are Newington Baptist Church, 6169 Main Street, Gloucester, and Mathews Baptist Church, 8284 Buckley Hall Road, Hudgins.
Hours for collection week at Newington Baptist are 1-4 p.m. daily except for Monday, Nov. 25, when hours are 9-11 a.m.
At Mathews Baptist, the hours are 1-3 p.m. today, 3:30-5:30 p.m. tomorrow, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 23, and 1-5 p.m. Sunday and Monday, Nov. 24 and 25.
