Classes offered to help children make homemade presents

Arts on Main is offering two classes for children during the holiday period at its Gloucester Court House gallery.
Taught by Ellen Walter, the classes encourage creative gift giving by children ages 5 to 12 through making handcrafted objects. Both classes will be offered twice—on Dec. 15 and again on Dec. 20.
“Christmas Presents for Mom!” will be held from 10 a.m. to noon. Walter will demonstrate how to create a jewelry dish, pendant, and Christmas tree ornament, all from polymer clay.
“Natural Christmas Ornaments Workshop” will be held from 1-3 p.m. In this class, children will learn to make a wooden snowman, twig reindeer, and a clay diffuser ornament.
Each class is $20 and includes supplies, cookies and milk.
Pre-register by visiting www.gloucesterarts.org (under Art Classes), e-mailing registration@gloucesterarts.org, or calling 804-824-9464.
