Clarice Wanda Scott Farinholt, age 95, of Gloucester, passed away peacefully on October 13, 2024. Born on April 19, 1929 in Fort Myers, Florida, to Sadie and John Scott, she was the last survivor of seven children. She was a beloved daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend.
Clarice was known for her kindness and her religious faith. She was an Eastern Star member for many years and went around the 5-star point chairs twice along with filling in when needed. She enjoyed playing cards, Mexican Train, word search, and knitting. She was a retired hairdresser.
She is survived by her daughter, Karen Hobgood (Russell); her son, Oran Herbert Farinholt II (Pamela); grandchildren, Cameron Farinholt, Tamara Burdick, Brandon Hobgood; great-grandsons, Noah Burdick, Adrian Hobgood, and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Sadie Scott; husband, Herbert Oran Farinholt, and six siblings.
In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that monetary donations may be sent to the Samaritan’s Purse (www.samartianspurse.org) for hurricane relief.
A private interment for the family will be held on October 26, 2024 at 2 p.m. at Salem Community Church.
