Clarice Lenora Hackett Burrell of Deltaville, Va., went peacefully to be the Lord with her family and friends at her side on April 21, 2012 at St. Mary’s Hospital in Richmond, Va. She was born in Middlesex County on April 6, 1934.

She is survived by her husband of 55 years, Raymond W. Burrell Sr. of Deltaville; daughter, Leanna Burrell; son, Robert Burrell, both of Hardyville, Va.; a sister-in-law, Naomi Banks of Peekskill, N.Y.; and several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Luther Hackett and Lenora Taliaferro Hackett, and a son, Raymond W. Burrell Jr.

The services were held at First Baptist Church Amburg in Deltaville, on Saturday, April 28, 2012, at 2 p.m., conducted by the Rev. Carlton Johnson. The viewing was held at the church on Friday, April 27, 2012, from 6-8 p.m.

Knight Funeral Home in Mathews was in charge of services.
