Clarice Kathleen Thacker, 79, of Bena, died March 6, 2012 at Riverside Convalescent Center Saluda.

Clarice was a member of Union Baptist Church and a homemaker. She was a kind, loving practical person who shared her love of life with her family. She will be missed by all who knew her.

She is survived by husband, Elmer Thacker; daughter, Kathy Jefferson and husband David; sons, Robert L. Thacker and wife Tracy, Scott Thacker, Paul Thacker and wife Michele; sisters, Mary Oliver and Dorothy Smith; brothers, Aaron Riley, Luther Riley; grandchildren, Pamela, A.J., Grace, Cole and Bentley; and great-grandchildren, Liam and Nina.

Graveside funeral services conducted by the Rev. Richard Whiteheart will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, March 8, 2012, at H.C. Smithers Cemetery, Hudgins, Va. Friends are asked to assemble at the cemetery.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to all who loved, supported and cared for Clarice at Walter Reed Convalescent Center, Riverside Walter Reed Hospital, Riverside Convalescent Center, Mathews and Saluda, and hospice.
