‘Christmas in Guinea’ to be celebrated Saturday

The Guinea Heritage Association will celebrate “Christmas in Guinea” on Saturday, beginning at 10 a.m.
The event, held at Union Baptist Church at 9254 Guinea Road, is inspired by the “Night Before Christmas in Guinea” song, and will include safe, socially distanced holiday cheer for the community, a release stated.
From 10 a.m. to noon, people are invited to visit Union Baptist Church and wave to Santa Claus, who will be enjoying time in a skiff being pulled by a Harris Garage wrecker. Guinea Heritage Association gifts and the limited-edition 2020 Christmas in Guinea T-shirt will be available for purchase at that time. Santa will return from 2-4 p.m. The pop-up shop will remain open throughout the day.
At 5, Santa will ride around Guinea Circle. Residents are encouraged to come outside, wave at Santa and enjoy the holiday cheer.
