Members and friends of American Legion Post 83 of Mathews assembled 68 Christmas dinners with all the trimmings on Christmas morning at the post home in Hudgins. From there, they ventured off in all directions of the county to deliver the feast to Meals on Wheels recipients. Those taking part included, clockwise from left, Lori and Hannah Roscher, Russell Reed, Charlotte Crist, Marvin Abram, Al Smith, Tim Roscher, Ray Fleischer (behind Tim), Mary Warren, MaryAnn Hubbard, Ron Lambert, Mindy Abram, Bonnie Smith, Butch Smith, Judy Smith, Chris Knoller, Debbie Lambert, Libby Crawford, Jim Warren and Willie Hubbard. Local caterer Shirley Williams prepared the meals which included turkey, gravy, stuffing, collard greens, yams, cranberry sauce, roll, pie, fruit and juice.
