Christmas Boat Parade Saturday in Mathews

The 2023 East River Lighted Christmas Boat Parade will be held from 6-8 p.m. Saturday in Mathews.
The public is invited to view the parade at Williams Wharf Landing, where the Mathews High School Athletics Booster Club will have coffee, hot cider, hot chocolate, and homemade baked goods available on a donation basis. Club president Sarah Ware said any money raised will support projects to “help improve the student experience” at the high school.
Parking will be in the Williams Wharf Landing parking lot, with overflow parking directed to the lot on Williams Wharf Road.
Parade organizer David Rowe said that participating boats will gather near Poplar Grove, travel north past Williams Wharf Landing and up to Long Point, then turn around and travel back to Williams Wharf, where they will stay for a while so community members can see them up close.
