Christine Haywood Hogge Emerson, age 99, of Hayes, died at her home on Tuesday, November 5, 2024. Christine was a hardworking homemaker and a mother to many, even those who weren’t her children. She was a proud lifelong member of Union Baptist Church, Achilles. She was preceded in death by her first husband in 1970, James W. Hogge, and in 1999, R. Lynwood Emerson, and son, James W. Hogge Jr. She is survived by her daughter, Dolly Henderson; grandsons, Willie Hogge, Kevin Henderson (Jill), Warren Henderson; granddaughter, Camille Layton; five great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews, and close friend, Nancy Kellum. The family will receive friends on Friday, November 8, 2024, from 6-7:30 p.m. at Hogg Funeral Home. A funeral service conducted by Pastor Bill West will be held in the chapel of Hogg Funeral Home on Saturday, November 9, 2024, at 2 p.m., followed by interment at Rosewell Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
