In its first meeting of the new year, the Gloucester County Board of Supervisors held its organizational meeting on Tuesday evening in the colonial courthouse, with Chris Hutson reelected as chairman and Kevin Smith elected vice chair.
In addition, the board appointed its members to serve as representatives to various boards and commissions.
Hutson was reelected chairman by a 7-1 margin, with Ashley Chriscoe voting against. Chriscoe, the board’s 2023 vice chairman, and Smith were each nominated for the vice chairman’s seat. Chriscoe’s nomination to be reelected as vice chair failed by a 2-5 vote, with the other vote coming from Phillip Bazzani. Smith was elected vice chair by a 5-2 vote.
