Members of the York River Circle of The King’s Daughters and Sons visited the Children’s Hospital of The King’s Daughters on May 1 to deliver the proceeds from their annual book author luncheon fundraiser held in March. The circle has pledged $2,500 per year for five years to support CHKD. The hospital has helped over 400,000 children since it opened in 1981, said a press release, adding that no one is turned away, even if they don’t have insurance. Residents at Eastern Virginia Medical School, which is next door, do rotations at CHKD.
