The inclement weather on what was to have been the first day of the Daffodil Festival didn’t dampen the spirits of the children taking part in the Garden Club of Gloucester and Mathews children’s flower workshop at Arts on Main on April 1. The theme was “Sounds of Spring,” which included a musical themed arrangement. Fifty-six children from the community made spectacular spring arrangements with donated flowers from the club member’s own gardens. Members helped each child create an arrangement as they talked about color, artistic form and design. Flower-arranging tips were shared to the next generation of flower lovers and the children took home their works.
